For example, a new battery performs better than a used one, as its capacity slightly decreases with repeated charge cycles. However, you can estimate runtime using a simple formula based on power consumption and battery capacity:
Runtime (hours) = Battery Capacity (Wh) / Total Device Power Consumption (W)
Example:
If you have a 12V 100Ah battery and connect a 50W lamp and a 50W speaker, the runtime will be:
1280Wh / (50W + 50W) = 12.8 hours
This straightforward formula helps estimate runtime under different loads. Always consider real-world factors like temperature and battery ageing for more accurate predictions.
To charge a WattCycle battery, you must use a dedicated LiFePO4 charger, such as the WattCycle 14.6V 20A charger. Conventional chargers may not provide the precise charging parameters required for LiFePO4 battery conditions, and LiFePO4 batteries have unique charging characteristics.
WattCycle LiFePO4 Batteries are straightforward to charge. The following 3 charging methods are recommended by WattCycle:
1. Dedicated 12V LiFePO4 Battery Chargers
2. Solar Panel & Solar Charge Controller
3. DC-DC Generator/Alternator
Compatible Power Source is Key:
Ensure your generator or alternator has a DC output. In this case, a DC-DC charger is required to connect it to the battery.
AC Output Option: If your generator/alternator uses an AC output, refer to our recommendations for a compatible battery charger to interface with your battery.
Charging Recommendations:
To charge a 12V 100Ah lithium battery from 100% depth of discharge in 4.5 peak sun hours, approximately 400 watts of solar panels and an MPPT charge controller are required.

Due to this mini battery's height of 208mm, you cannot place it vertically upright under a caravan seat. Instead, you will need to position the battery sideways (switching the height to 138mm).
