While traditional lead-acid batteries and AGM battery have served their purpose, LiFePO4 RV batteries offer a more reliable and maintenance-free solution, making them ideal for modern motorhome and camper van users.

In Europe, a standard Category B driving licence caps your rig’s maximum authorised mass at 3.5 tonnes, and most roads restrict vehicle width to 2.55 metres. Every extra kilogram you load—even from batteries—eats into your payload, affects handling on narrow lanes, and can push you over weight.

Traditional lead-acid banks are bulky and heavy, often adding several hundred kilos to your motorhome’s mass. WattCycle’s LiFePO4 packs, by contrast, are up to 70 % lighter for the same capacity—freeing up space and keeping your 6–7 m coach under the 3.5 t threshold without compromising energy reserves.

Whether you’re towing a caravan or a campervan, our slim-profile modules slot neatly under seats or into lockers, respecting Europe’s tight width rules. Even if you hitch a small trailer, a dedicated travel trailer deep cycle battery from WattCycle lets you power towables without blowing your weight allowance.

Know More About Motorhome Leisure Battery Information

    What is a leisure battery?

A leisure battery is the heart of your caravan, motorhome, or campervan's electrical system, which is used to power electrical appliances and equipment, like lights or a TV, in a motorhome or caravan.

As these appliances place higher power demands on a battery, motorhome leisure batteries are specifically designed to allow deeper discharge without affecting longevity.

How long do WattCycle motorhome leisure batteries last?

All WattCycle's batteries are deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries, so typically last up to 10 years or more. they all support 5000 - 15.000 cycles of life and are equipped with EV-grade A+ LiFePO4 cells. The long lifespan makes them your reliable RV power choice.

How to choose a leisure battery from WattCycle?
    • Available physical space: Be sure to measure the usable area for the battery. Whether it's a caravan/RV battery compartment or the space under seats. You need to ensure the selected battery fits into this space.
    • Battery terminal type and polarity: WattCycle models use M8 terminals (16 mm x 8 mm), except for the 12V 50Ah model, which uses M6 terminals.
    • Battery-rated capacity: Battery capacity indicates how much energy the battery can store, measured in Ah (ampere-hours). Simply put, the higher the number, the longer the usage time between charges.

If you have any questions about purchasing an RV battery, feel free to contact our customer service team anytime.

Are WattCycle motorhome leisure batteries suitable for extreme weather conditions?

Sure. All WattCycle's batteries are equipped with advanced BMS, which protects the battery against overcharging, deep discharging, overloading, overheating, extreme temperatures (high/low), and short circuits. Worry-free usage in extreme temperatures!

How and when to charge your motorhome leisure battery?

WattCycle's batteries support 3 charging ways: AC-DC LiFePO4 battery charger, Solar Panel with solar controller, and DC generator. For specific charging instructions, please refer to the product details page or product manual.

WattCycle recommends that your leisure battery be recharged whenever it falls below the 50% charge level. If storing the battery for over 3 months, recharge the LiFePO4 battery.

Do WattCycle leisure batteries need maintenance?

WattCycle's batteries are all deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries, which require the least maintenance on the battery market. You just need to check the battery state once a year.

WattCycle provides more than 5 years of battery warranty for our valued customers (Anyone who registers for warranty can get an additional 2 years battery warranty).

Is it possible to connect WattCycle's motorhome leisure batteries in parallel or in series?

Sure, as long as you follow these rules:

    • 1. Same brand
    • 2. Same Voltage
    • 3. Same Capacity
    • 4. No more than 3 months of purchase date

However, WattCycle recommends purchasing batteries based on your needs. For example, if you need to build a 12V 200Ah battery system, we recommend that you purchase one 12V 200Ah battery instead of two 12V 100Ah batteries.

Do I need a special charger for lithium batteries in my RV?

WattCycle recommends that you use a charger designed for LiFePO4 batteries rather than a dedicated charger because non-dedicated chargers may cause serious risks, including: Overcharging: Exceeding the voltage limit of the battery may cause overheating and damage the internal cells.

How do I install my WattCycle motorhome battery?

Our batteries are designed for easy installation and come with clear instructions. Additionally, our professional support team is available to help with any questions you may have about your motorhome & camper battery. Feel free to contact us, and we will respond within 24 hours.

Can WattCycle motorhome batteries be used with solar panels?
