Charging

What charging methods do WattCycle's deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries support?

WattCycle supports 3 charging methods: AC - DC LiFePO4 battery charger, Solar Panel with Solar controller, and DC-DC generator with DC - DC charger.

Can I use the battery while it is charging?

Unfortunately, WattCycle’s deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries currently do not support simultaneous charging.

If I connect batteries in series and parallel to form a battery system, how should I charge it better?

WattCycle recommends that you charge the batteries one by one using an AC-DC LiFePO4 battery charger.

What is the recommended charging temperature for WattCycle deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries?

WattCycle recommends charging temperature is 0℃ - 65℃.

What will happen if I charge WattCycle's deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries below 0°C?

All WattCycle batteries have low temperature cut-off protection. If you charge the battery below 0℃, the battery will cut off the charging process.

Can I charge a WattCycle's deep cycle LiFePO4 battery with a regular battery charger?

Not recommended, WattCycle recommends using a charger designed for LiFePO4 batteries.

Usage

Can I use WattCycle's deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries below -20℃?

No, all WattCycle batteries have low temperature cut-off protection. If you use the battery at -20℃, the battery will be protected directly. When the temperature returns to 5℃ - 15℃, the battery will automatically recover.

Can I connect different models of WattCycle's deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries in series or parallel?

No, if you plan to use WattCycle batteries in series and parallel, you need to follow the following rules: Same brand; Same voltage; Same capacity (consistent continuous charge and discharge current, consistent BMS); Purchase time is no more than 3 months apart.

How many series and parallel connections can batteries of different voltages support?

The 12V series battery can support up to 4 series connections and 4 parallel connections; the 24V series battery can support up to 2 series connections and 4 parallel connections.

In what scenarios can WattCycle's deep cycle LiFePO4 batteries be used?

Since WattCycle's batteries are deep cycle batteries, they can be used in any deep cycle application, such as RVs, home energy storage, Trolling Motors, fish finders, and deep cycle marine applications.

Maintainance

Where can l mount the battery?

In order for our batteries to perform better and extend their service life, we strongly recommend to store batteries in a stable environment away from direct sunlight, moisture, or damp areas. The ideal storage location is dry, well-ventilated, and away from sources of heat and flammable materials.

If you plan to install the battery inside a device, make sure the internal space of the device and the physical dimensions of the battery are compatible. At the same time, if you need to perform series or parallel operations, you also need to reserve some space to support your future operations.

How do I winterize my battery?

To ensure WattCycle LiFePO4 Batteries are prepared for winter, it's crucial to maintain their performance and safety. Here are some suggestions:

  • Storage Temperature: Avoid exposing batteries to extreme cold temperatures, as this can degrade or damage battery performance. Store batteries in a dry, cool (but not freezing) environment, ideally between 0°C and 25°C.
  • Battery Charge Level: Before storage, charge batteries to around 50%-70% capacity. This helps reduce the natural discharge rate during storage and preserves battery health.
  • Avoid Over-Discharge: Prevent batteries from being excessively discharged in very low temperatures, as this can damage the battery. Complete discharge, especially in low-temperature environments, may lead to permanent battery damage.
  • Storage Location: Store batteries in a stable environment away from direct sunlight, moisture, or damp areas. The ideal storage location is dry, well-ventilated, and away from sources of heat and flammable materials.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check the status of batteries during winter to ensure they haven't been damaged or show any abnormalities. Pay special attention to any odors, leakage, deformation, or abnormal heating.

Overall, maintaining WattCycle LiFePO4 Batteries in appropriate temperature and charge states and conducting regular inspections are key to ensuring safe winter storage of batteries.

How should i store my batteries?

WattCycle recommends charging the WattCycle Energy battery to 50%. Then, disconnect the battery from the load by removing the negative wire from one battery.

Overall, the battery's capacity loss is less than 3.5% per month at 25°C. However, if stored in extreme environmental conditions, the capacity loss may increase.

What should I do if I haven't used my battery for a while and I'm ready to use it?

If you rarely use the battery, WattCycle recommends that you recharge the battery every three months.
