Real Stories About WattCycle Lithium Fish Finder Battery

Big enough for Panoptik

I have a Garmin Panoptik + 93SV fish finder setup on my Hobie kayak. I know, that’s weird overkill.

My old battery did not have enough capacity to power all of that so I stepped up to this one. Problem solved!

This battery comes well packaged and claims to have built in battery management circuits. I charge it with a Noco Genius charger and therefore do not stress this part. I’m sure it’s OK, though, given the overall performance.

Recommended.

Know More About Lithium Fish Finder Battery Information

What is the best battery for a small fish finder?

For most fish finders WattCycle recommends Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries for fish finders, because LiFePO4 batteries offer a longer-lasting, safer and more powerful battery alternative.

What size battery for fish finder?

Most fish finders require a 12V system, and the capacity requirement is not high. WattCycle‘s 12V small batteries with different capacities (8Ah - 100Ah) and compact design meet your versatile fish finder needs.

When you choose your fish finder battery box, you don't have much to worry about because WattCycle’s compact and efficient design makes it easy to store, transport, and set up on your kayak or other small vessels.

How to choose a fish finder battery?

You need to consider the power requirements of your device and the type of fishing you do.

For portable fish finders (such as Deeper, Garmin STRIKER 4), WattCycle recommends choosing 12V 6Ah -12Ah batteries, which are portable and powerful enough; for small and medium-sized boats or kayaks, WattCycle recommends choosing 12V 20Ah - 50Ah batteries, which are resistant to low temperatures and have a long life; for large boats or ocean fishing, WattCycle recommends choosing 12V 100Ah or even higher capacity batteries.

However, when you finally decide to purchase, WattCycle recommends contacting our customer service team for consultation and confirmation.

How to connect fish finder to battery?

Choose a suitable fish finder battery box to safely house your lithium fish finder battery. To wire, connect the positive (red) wire from the fish finder to the positive terminal of the battery and the negative (black) wire to the negative terminal. Make sure all connections are secure and use marine connectors or electrical tape for added protection. Once connected, place the battery in the box to protect it.

How long will a battery run a fish finder?

The runtime of a lithium fish finder battery depends on its capacity and fish finder power. Normally, a smaller 12V 6Ah lithium battery can power basic fish finders for 8 - 10 hours. High-capacity options like a WattCycle 12V 100Ah deep cycle LiFePO4 battery can power your fish finder for several days, ideal for long-distance fishing trips.

What are the best practices for charging my fish finder battery?

WattCycle supports 3 charging ways: AC - DC LiFePO4 battery charger, Solar panel with solar controller, and DC-generator with DC - DC charger. Most of the time, it is recommended to use an AC-DC LiFePO4 charger. It should be noted that the battery cannot be used during charging.

How do I care for my battery when ice fishing?

Because the ice fishing environment is relatively cold, although WattCycle's lithium fish finder battery has a low temperature cut-off function and can be used in -20℃ - 70℃, it will cut off the discharge once the temperature drops below -20℃. WattCylcle recommends that you always keep the battery in the fish finder battery box during ice fishing to prevent moisture and extreme cold. You also need to check the connections regularly to ensure that they are firm and clean, as ice and snow can cause corrosion.

Can I use the same battery for different fishing setups?

Absolutely! WattCycle's lithium batteries are suitable for deep cycle applications and can be used in a variety of fishing equipment as long as the battery can meet the power requirements of the equipment. But please note that it cannot be used as a startup application.
