The Smart Meter Reader reads electricity data from a compatible meter and makes it available for monitoring through the WattCycle Home app. It supports household energy monitoring and use alongside compatible energy storage systems. It is an accessory reader for your existing electricity meter.

The Smart Meter Reader supports compatible meters with infrared or P1 interfaces. Compatibility depends on the meter model and communication requirements, not simply the presence of a port.

For a compatible infrared meter, attach the reader magnetically to the optical interface and connect the supplied power adapter and data cable. For a compatible P1 meter, connect the meter’s P1 port to the reader using the supplied P1 adapter cable. Attach the Wi-Fi antenna before completing app configuration.

Use a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to configure the Smart Meter Reader. Enable Bluetooth and the required location permissions on your phone during setup, then follow the WattCycle Home app instructions to connect the reader.

The reader provides monitoring and cost insights that can help you make informed energy-use decisions. Savings depend on your electricity tariff, consumption patterns, actions and any compatible connected storage system.

The package includes the Smart Meter Reader meter reading head, a power adapter, a Wi-Fi antenna, a P1 adapter cable, a data cable and a user manual. The product carries a 1-year warranty according to the supplied manual.

Confirm that you are using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and that Bluetooth and required location permissions are enabled. Check the reader’s power and cable connections, then restart the router if needed. We also recommend resetting the reader by holding the reset button for five seconds before trying configuration again.
